How to create a list using external data: membership numbers, emails or phone numbers
This article explains how to create a static list within Movement, using external data. You may want to create a list if you have paper based data, which you have gathered in person. You can use these lists to filter to create an Audience. Follow the step-by-step guide below to create a list.

Step 1: Prepare your data
Pull your list of members from your external data source. You can use: membership numbers, email address or phone numbers to match this group against members in Movement.
Step 2: Select Create a list in the audience tab

Step 3: Check your data
You can upload a CSV, which must have a top row with column names and one of: membership number, phone number or email. Select which of membership number, phone number or email you are planning to use to create your list. Then, select Next: select your file

Step 4: Upload your CSV or paste in your data
You can upload a CSV from your device or directly from Google Sheets or copy and paste your data. Then, select Next: Review Your Data.

Step 3: Review your data and name your list
Check your data and set a name for your list in the List name box.

Note: If there are any issues an error message will provide more information.
Step 4: Upload
You will received an email when the upload has been processed and the list is ready to use.
Step 5: Turn your list into an audience
Create an audience using the list by selecting the filter 'Within list(s)' and typing your list name.
