How to set up an approval system for campaign sends
As admins, you have the option to set up an approval system for campaign sends on Movement. This means that users with certain roles need to get approval for campaigns before they are sent out to members.
There are a couple of things you'll need to do to set this up
Step 1: Determine the audience size threshold for approving campaign sends
You can require approval for all campaign sends or can set an audience size above which sends are required to be approved. To set the threshold for approval, email us at support@yourmovement.org
If you would like users to be able to send smaller campaigns of a certain size, then you should set an audience size threshold and toggle the Send, launch and approve campaigns below your sign-off threshold permission (see next step below). An example for when this might be useful is to allow reps to send emails to branch members while moderating their ability to send emails nationally.
Step 2: Set up user roles and configure the approval permissions
You can create, edit and customise roles and permissions in Settings > Manage roles. Once you have set up your roles, you can configure the relevant permissions. Select the role you'd like to edit and scroll to the Campaigns section - there are two approval settings you can toggle:
-
Send, launch and approve campaigns: Grants full control over campaign deployment, including final approval and launching
-
Send, launch and approve campaigns below your sign-off threshold: Allows management of small campaigns that fall under predetermined budget or reach thresholds

Once you have selected your permissions, select save at the bottom of the page.
Note: Approvals can be made by users in the same organisation as the campaign creator with the correct permission.
Once you have configured your desired permissions, the users with the Send, launch and approve campaigns permission will have access to the Awaiting approval tab to approve or reject campaigns:
