Assign and update roles via CSV
Super admins can create, update or remove user roles for members and supporters in bulk via CSV upload. This can be especially helpful for managing access to Movement across your organisation where members or reps will need to be granted access to Movement to create, manage or volunteer in campaigns.
You can only manage users using a CSV if those users hold a target account, the system will match using their membership number and create or update a linked user account. Make sure if you plan on removing user accounts and targets, you remove their user account via CSV before performing a bulk action to remove their target profile.
To create, update and remove user roles via CSV, you'll need to set-up your CSV in the following way:
Membership number column is required. You can have as many other columns in the CSV as you like, the same upload can optionally be used to add new targets, update their details and perform any other updates as well as creating and updating user accounts.
Set-up “Create User” column: For each target you want to create a corresponding user, or update an existing user, the "Create User" column needs to be set to "y". If set to "n", then no update will be applied.
-
Set-up “Create User Role Slugs” column and assign role identifiers: Specify the role in the column "Create User Role Slugs" with one of the role slug for each respective user you are uploading:
The role slugs can be found under roles in the setting pages. If a role isn't specified then no change will happen.
If the column is set to "_remove", then it will remove all roles from the user, effectively meaning they can't access the platform.
The user and roles will be assigned to the user's branch by default. To change this contact support@movement.industries.
Example CSV for assigning and updating roles:

The second row would set a super admin
The third would do nothing
The fourth would remove all roles from an existing user
The fifth would do nothing because Create User = 'n'.
