How to personalise messages, scripts and questions with custom fields

Custom fields allow you to import external data to merge into your messages and questions. For example, you could include turnout figures for member's branches to provide social proof to encourage non-voters to vote in a ballot. Follow our step-by-step guide to begin utilising custom fields in messages and scripts:

Step 1: Create the custom field
Create the custom field with a CSV of membership numbers and the data you wish to import for each member.

Step 2: Add the custom field merge tag to your message, script or question
Add the custom field merge tag in any message, script or question by selecting the + then selecting the custom field you wish to use.
