Branching scripts on text message surveys
Movement allows you to create logic-based interactive scripts that head down multiple branches. By using branching scripts you can create different journeys for people based on the answers they give.
Note: It is possible to use branching scripts on both phone campaigns and text/WhatsApp surveys and the set up is identical for each type of campaign.
Follow the step-by-step guide below to setup your branching:
Step 1: Create the questions for your script
In your campaign build, navigate to the Script & Questions section, select Add and then, Add question/instruction:

Step 2: Choose your question type
From the drop down menu, choose your question type - either multiple choice or open question:

Step 3: Build your questions
Add the content for your script and continue to add further questions/instructions by selecting the Add question/instruction button. You will notice that a drop down menu appears next to each question, this is where you set your branching logic but it's best to create all your questions first, then apply the logic:

Step 4: Apply the logic
Once you have setup all your questions, set the logic for each by selecting what you want to happen afterwards, for example: continue to next question, continue to a specific question or end the questions. The script must close with End the questions. For each multiple choice answer, you can set which question or instruction follows a specific answer. For open questions or instructions, you can select the next step for everyone:

Step 5: Double check your script is set up correctly
Make sure every branch leads to "end the questions" in the script preview. Then, launch your campaign!
