Create and send WhatsApp blasts
From an urgent request to mobilise members to share a petition to a sending out your organisation’s weekly update, WhatsApp blasts are the perfect way to send a personalisable broadcast message that will effectively mobilise your members.
How to create and send a WhatsApp blast via Movement.
- Go to the campaigns tab, click “Create Campaign”, select the WhatsApp option in the pop-up box and then “One Way Blast”.
- Enter a distinctive campaign name, so that you can easily find it later in the campaigns page.
- After selecting the “begin” button, you will arrive at the campaign builder which takes your through 5 steps: Goal, To, Content, Settings and Preview
Efforts
Goals allow you to group multiple campaigns with a shared goal together and efficiently group everyone who meets the goal to make managing audiences and tracking results easier. For example, when running a get out the vote operation for a ballot, you can set up a goal for the ballot of people voting.

Select your audience audience for your WhatsApp blast.

Content
Select your template from the list of approved templates. If none of the listed templates are suitable, you will need to create and submit a new template for approval.
Fill in the numbered content fields for the variables in your chosen template. You can add dynamic content to personalise your message by clicking the plus icon.

The phone screen on the right-hand side is an accurate preview of how your message will appear on WhatsApp.
Settings
Send all messages at once, or send a set number of messages out per hour between specific times.
Preview
✅Check your personalisation by selecting any contact to show an accurate preview of the message they will receive.
✅Check your message end to end by sending yourself or a colleague a sample of you WhatsApp message.
Send or schedule
In the preview section, hit send to send your message immediately, or use the schedule button to set a date and time to send the message.
Results
Click through to the sent campaign to see results.
