Help for admins: Email fonts
Email safe fonts are those best accessible on the widest range of computers, devices, and applications. You can typically expect these different fonts to load in your members inbox, regardless of what email client they use, like Outlook or Gmail or an Android or iPhone.
Email safe fonts:
- Arial
- Courier New
- Georgia
- Helvetica
- Lucida Sans
- Tahoma
- Times New Roman
- Trebuchet MS
Some email clients such as Apple mail do support some web fonts, however many of the most popular clients including Gmail and Office 365 do not.
Each email client has a default font to revert to if it doesn’t support a web font. However, this default is different for different clients.
- Gmail: Arial
- Apple Mail: Helvetica
- Outlook: Calibri
Due to all these factors it is best to prioritise using one of the fonts listed above as email safe.
