Troubleshoot issues with phone calling
You should be able to make calls using Movement on any laptop, computer, tablet or phone. If you are experiencing issues, check below for tips and solutions.
Are you having difficulty with your sound? Go to our guide to troubleshooting issues with sound.
Run through a test call at the beginning of each new calling session.
Almost all common issues people encounter when calling members will be surfaced in a test call. By running a quick test before each session, you can identify and fix any problems before contacting your members. If you can successfully make a test call, you shouldn’t have any problems when you call members.
When you go to start calling just select the practice calling option:

Are you using the best browser?
For best performance use Chrome as your browser.
If you don’t have Chrome, up to date versions of Edge or Safari shouldn’t have any problems but avoid Firefox.
If you’re having issues using the recommended browsers, check that you are using the latest version and update if necessary.
Are you using ad blocking software?
Ad blocking browsers like brave and browsers extensions like AdBlock can interfere with calling on Movement. Ideally you should avoid using these when accessing Movement but if that’s not possible, ensure you’ve unblocked/ removed the Movement domain from security restrictions.
Are you seeing an error message?
“Something went wrong with the connection to the web browser calling”
- If this error message appears immediately it is likely your network is blocking Movement from working. Contact your IT administrators and include this link: Info for IT.
- If it appears while your are making calls: This is likely an issue with your internet provider, or your home wifi network. Try moving closer to your wifi, using Ethernet cable, or contact your Internet Service Provider for more help.
If you can’t resolve the connection issue you can use phone dial-in instead. The number is most likely included in your phone plan minutes, but check your phone provider to be sure.
“Something went wrong trying to access your microphone or speakers”
Check the advice above on fixing issues with sound. It may be your browser or system settings are blocking access, or you could need to select a different microphone or speakers.
