Add text message referrals to your phone script
When making a phone script, you can add a question that allows the volunteer to send a pre-written text message to the person they are calling. You might want to do this to share information easily or to share surveys, petitions or donation asks.
Follow our guide below to add text messages to your phone script:
Step 1: Add question, 'Send a text message'
Navigate to your phone script and select Add new question/instruction. From the drop down, select 'Send a text message'

Step 2: Write instructions for volunteers
Add instructions for volunteers making the calls so it's clear what the text message is and how they might use it

Step 3: Add your text message content
This is like any other text message in Movement - you'll be able to view a preview of your message next to the question

Note: You can use personalisations in both the instructions and text message by selecting the plus icon
Step 4: Update branching
Like any other script question, select what you want to happen 'After this question'. If it's the end of your script, make sure to 'End the questions'. Save to add your question:
During calling, volunteers will have the option to send the text message to the person they're calling. For security reasons, we don't show volunteers the context of the text message in case you've included personal information. The volunteer can either choose to send the text or select the button to skip it.
